OUR PROJECT AREAS
ETF has expertise in the areas of design, construction, maintenance and service, enabling it to be involved at each phase of projects and make complete and inclusive proposals to its clients.
Through its skills and know-how, ETF operates on its own or in collaboration in the national, urban and private railway networks.
CATENARY WORKS
Design of the plans in the design office, construction of the catenaries, maintenance, regeneration of lines, electrical protection of the worksites, etc. A specialized entity in ETF is dedicated to these projects, an expert advisor for all types of electric traction lines.
Panama
TRACK WORKS
ETF manages all the construction, modernization and management works of the railway networks. This expertise and know-how are supported by regional and international divisions, major projects management and significant range of equipment.
France
RAILWAY CIVIL ENGINEERING AND SIGNALING
In order to provide a global approach to rail works, we deal with the concreting of ditches, crossings under tracks, construction of passenger platforms, building of tracks over ditches, paving foundation work, and all other installations.

RAIL SAFETY
Through its dedicated brand, Feroway®, ETF designs complete rail safety systems, from the preparation of the works to hauling the equipment and securing the worksites.

ETF ACROSS THE WORLD
Besides an important regional network in France, ETF has also developed numerous installations throughout the world to support countries in the development of their railway networks.
Canada
The Rail Cantech teams are working with the KEV (Kiewit, Eurocia, VINCI) group to build the East (12km) and West (15 km) railway extensions of the Confederation line to Ottawa. After having begun the installation of the railway systems for the maintenance and storage centre (Garage Cote Vertu) of the Montreal underground, it is a great victory for our Canadian branch which is firmly strengthening its urban expertise.
Chile
In Santiago, the OFC teams, ETF’s Chilean subsidiary, constructed the railway system for the new depot “Vespucio Norte” on line 2 of the Santiago underground. With 10 tracks of 140 linear meters, 13 switches and crossings, a workshop beam and a walkway, it will be officially operational in May 2021.
Uganda
In Uganda, the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni, attended the start of restoration works of 375 km of rail tracks between Tororo and Gulu. To complete this project, ETF and its partner Sofea-Satom (Vinci Construction) are recruiting and training operatives in the villages through which the railway line runs.
Egypt
The ETF teams have concluded phase 4B at the worksite of the extension of line 3 in Cairo after more than two years of work. This consists of an extension of 8.5 km and the construction of the biggest depot in Egypt. Now phase 3 is underway which will result in the termination of these works that began some 10 years ago.

Germany
Eurovia has acquired the German company AGT (Allgemeine Gleis-und Tiefbau-Bauunternehmung) GmbH, which joins ETF, its rail subsidiary. This acquisition strengthens the ETF’s positioning in Germany as regards the construction and maintenance of rail infrastructures in a dynamic market.

Despite the extraordinary conditions created by the health crisis, ETF has been able to adapt and quickly mobilize to relaunch its activity while at the same time preserving the health of its employees. At the peak of the crisis, our teams were hard at work ensuring the continuity of public services. We are proud to have responded positively to every one of our clients’ requests.
Arising from this operational and commercial performance, ETF’s turnover was 426 million euros at the end of 2020, close to our initial objective set before the onset of Covid-19. Achieving an ever more continuous and complex global performance remains key.
- It starts with our health and safety policy, concentrating on the prevention of major risks which are the use of the machinery, railway and road risks.
- This performance is also environmental by taking action on our consumption, promoting the circular economy and the preservation of natural habitats.
- It also impacts on the diversity and equal opportunities of our employees and their career paths, namely via the ETF Academy which supports them as the sector changes.
- It is also open to those who are experiencing difficulties in finding work as, for example, at the Grand Paris worksites where, from the start of 2021, some sixty people have been recruited and trained in occupations related to railway works.
In order to better serve our clients, we have strengthened our organization around our three pillars: Major Projects, the International sector, and regional and specialized activities. Our organization is fully committed to the objectives of the Eurovia France division of the new VINCI Construction hub.
